The Summation of the Old Testament is Jesus
Speaking at the birth of John the Baptist,( the cousin of Jesus) the forerunner of the Lord Jesus, the elderly priest Zechariah prophesied
Luke 1:67-79 CSB
[67] Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied: [68] Blessed is the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has visited and provided redemption for his people. [69] He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, [70] just as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets in ancient times; [71] salvation from our enemies and from the hand of those who hate us. [72] He has dealt mercifully with our fathers and remembered his holy covenant- [73] the oath that he swore to our father Abraham. He has given us the privilege, [74] since we have been rescued from the hand of our enemies, to serve him without fear [75] in holiness and righteousness in his presence all our days. [76] And you, child, will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, [77] to give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins. [78] Because of our God's merciful compassion, the dawn from on high will visit us [79] to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. …

1. The Problems The Government Cannot Fix
You need redemption and salvation because:
Education Cannot Fix Our Problems. Smarter criminals who use smarter weapons.
Socialism cannot fix our problems. Government social programs don't deal with the real problem. The problems have always been of a spiritual nature, that which is deep down in all our hearts collectively because it is down in our hearts individually!
The heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart.
2. The Prophecies God Formulated.
Prophecies of Redemption.
The world is broken. It was created perfect. Sin has broken it. Stepping out of God's purposes created the problems no government can Fix. So God revealed throughout history His Purpose of Redemption and Salvation.
To David He revealed a true King who could restore what no government can restore
2 Samuel 7:11-16 CSB
[11] … "'The LORD declares to you: The LORD himself will make a house for you. [12] When your time comes and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up after you your descendant, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. [13] He is the one who will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. [14] I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and blows from mortals. [15] But my faithful love will never leave him as it did when I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. [16] Your house and kingdom will endure before me a forever, and your throne will be established forever.'" …
King David wrote prophetically of the coming King.
Psalm 2:1-12 CSB
[1] … Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? [2] The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers conspire together against the LORD and his Anointed One: [3] "Let's tear off their chains and throw their ropes off of us." [4] The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord ridicules them. [5] Then he speaks to them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath: [6] "I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain." [7] I will declare the LORD's decree. He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father. [8] Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession. [9] You will break them with an iron scepter; you will shatter them like pottery." [10] So now, kings, be wise; receive instruction, you judges of the earth. [11] Serve the LORD with reverential awe and rejoice with trembling. [12] Pay homage to d the Son or he will be angry and you will perish in your rebellion, e for his anger may ignite at any moment. All who take refuge in him are happy. …
To Isaiah He revealed One of whom the government shall be on His shoulders:
Isaiah 9:6-7 ESV - For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

The gospel of Luke is Salvation History.
3. The Person God provided to fix our problems.
The Prophecies focus on a Person the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Incarnation of Jesus is salvation entered into our broken world.
The Life of Jesus is the salvation touching the world. Who He touched were restored!
How can this person fix our problems? He fixes us one by one, individually. Individuals fix social problems.
The death of Jesus was Salvation for the world. He died to give us forgiveness of our sins (Luke 1:77).
The resurrection of Jesus is Salvation for our world.
4. The Personal Facing of Jesus.
You must personally face Jesus.
People can move from darkness to light by facing Jesus. (79)
People can move from death to life by facing Jesus. (79)
To guide our paths into peace.
Will you personally face Jesus and receive His forgiveness?
Will you personally Face Jesus and be redeemed, restored today ?
